Hazrat Junaid Baghdaadi (RA) says that it is alright to keep the world in the pocket but it is forbidden to keep it in the heart. Because the thing that is in the pocket does not create any pleasure (if it is there) or pain (if it is not). This is the detail of the world of greed. The second thing is desire. A sage is a person whose eating or drinking is not for him/her-self. Rather it is for the fulfillment of the command of Allah Almighty. When hazrat Maalik bin Deenaar (RA) heard about the prohibition of the world, they left everything and started living in a state of hunger. Due to this he started becoming old. Initially he left nawaafil and then he started missing sunnah prayers. He started fearing that he might not start missing his fardh prayers too. When your Sheikh heard about your (RA)’s plight, he (RA) at once condemned that and said that I had told you to seek advice about every matter and that why had he started fasting and staying hungry according to his own will? Hazrat Malik (RA) humbly said that when I read about the prohibition of the love of world I paid attention to it and I came to know that it starts off with food. That is why I started staying hungry. Then his Sheikh (RA) said not to become so oppressive with himself. That yourself and your life have a right on you. My Sheikh Hazrat khaja Abdullah Hajveri (RA) also used to say one thing that one should seek advice of the murshid in every matter. And seek advice on every step. If you do not seek the guidance of the master, then definitely satan will become your guide. And whose guide is satan, his/her destruction and annihilation is certain. Satan is very experienced. He creates differences with a lot of dexterity. And depending on the type of person, the same type of satan is appointed for him. Scholar sheikhs satan is much bigger scholar than him. A few sheikhs have described a few types for that satan. Airaaz, hijaab (veil) salb mazeed and salb-e-qadeem. It is prayed to Allah Almighty that may Allah save us all from satan and whims.
